Sweden vs. South Africa

Three is the magic number here. The third-place finisher in 2019, and the third-ranked squad in the FIFA Women’s Rankings, Sweden opens their quest to reach the final for the first time since being crowned champions in 1995. If they’re going to get there, Kosovare Asllani will be a big reason why. The 33-year-old will be appearing in her fourth World Cup and found the back of the net three times in the last tournament. The Swedish side figures to score multiple goals in this match, and Asllani is as good of a bet as any to get on the scoresheet.

The Pick: Anytime Goalscorer €“ Kosovare Asllani (+130)

Netherlands vs. Portugal

When you’re talking about soccer and you hear “Portugal,” it’s hard for your mind not to immediately think about Ronaldo. While the Portuguese women aren’t revered like their male counterparts, the 21st-ranked squad in the world earned their first World Cup bid and will be looking to prove they belong on this stage. It won’t be easy, though, as their reward for getting this far is ninth-ranked Netherlands. Last year’s runner-up is powered by Lieke Martens up front and anchored in the midfield by captain Sherida Spitse. This should be one of the more interesting matches in group play.

The Pick: First Goalscorer €“ Lieke Martens (+500)

France vs. Jamaica

The third-ranked French side was knocked out in the quarterfinals by the eventual champion, the United States, four years ago. Kadidiatou Diani figures to be central to Les Bleues’ efforts to challenge for the title again. The 22-year-old has 11 goals in ten matches for her Paris Saint-Germain squad this season, and there’s no reason to think she’ll slow down her scoring pace against a Jamaican squad that conceded 12 goals in three matches four years ago.

The Pick: First Goalscorer €“ Kadidiatou Diani (+290)
